MOSCOW, Mar 26 (PRIME) – Russia should remain the leader of global wheat exports, Agriculture Deputy Minister Oksana Lut said at a roundtable talk on Tuesday.

“We are the leader in wheat exports. Our goal is to keep this leadership and cement this position,” Lut said.

Russia’s combined grain exports amounted to 52.422 million tonnes, including 40.449 million tonnes of wheat, in the previous agricultural year that started on July 1, 2017 and ended on June 30, 2018.

The ministry expects Russia’s grain exports to reach 42 million tonnes, including 37 million tonnes of wheat, in the current agricultural year that started on July 1, 2018 and will end on June 30, 2019.
